#3.3: Unexpected Wedding Surprise
The day before the wedding, I picked up my perfectly tailored wedding gown, Chris and Gilbert finally made it down to VA after missing their train (YES! You read that correctly), and we began the celebrations with a family dinner the night before our rehearsal, followed by the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner the next night!
My matron of honor was still in Nashville with her family. Her mom was miraculously making progress, but still far from out of the woods.
After dinner, Chris and his groomsmen stayed in a hotel together while my bridesmaids and I stayed in a quaint bed and breakfast in downtown Fredericksburg.
We woke up in the morning to coffee and breakfast in the dining room, which was quickly followed by the hair/ make-up artists arriving to get us dolled up for the big day.
In the middle of the flurry of getting ready, the door to our room opened. Expecting it to be the photographer I casually looked up. It wasn’t the photographer...
It was my best friend. I ran to her. Tears filled both of our eyes as we wrapped our arms around each other, unable to speak.
Her mom was stable.
My best friend was here.
It was a moment that I wasn’t expecting, and it’s a moment that I will never forget.
“Thank you Lord for miracles and best friends,” I thought.
My heart was so full - it was time to do this!
